I'm trying to figure out if the AMD Phenom II X4 965 fits in my Fujitsu motherboard of type MS-7504VP-PV. I've read that it fits in LGA775 sockets, which i have and its also 45nm. I upgraded my power supply to 530W, is that enough?

I'll just post the speccy log of my motherboard and cpu here hope you can help me:

also my graphic card is the GTX 460.

That CPU is AM3, not LGA 755. It won't work.

The Q8200 you have right now is about the best you'll get in that motherboard. Still a pretty decent CPU for most uses.

EDIT: Found the manual. The CPU compatibility is listed as:

Intel® Core2 Quad, Core2 Duo, Pentium® and Celeron®
processors in the LGA775 package.

That doesn't help a lot, since there's no telling if it supports the newer Q9000-series ones or not. I wouldn't even bother with that upgrade though. If you really need more power, upgrade to an ivy bridge platform.

"Without a doubt the Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition is faster than anything you can get that fits into an LGA-775 socket at a remotely similar price point. AMD has done its duty well there, the 965 is clearly a better option than the Q9550 or Q9650 for that matter."

also i read that this cpu is am3/am2+

That review is saying that, for the price, if you had a Phenom II X4 965, you wouldn't be able to find better performance from something that *did* fit in a 775 socket. It's not saying it *does* fit in such a socket, which as foothead said, it doesn't.
