DOA Question

There is always a chance of getting parts DOA. When I did my first build my CPU was DOA.

My return was a bit different than a standard RMA though. Since it was a Intel offer I had to deal with them even though at that time I ordered through Tiger Direct since it was cheaper than newegg. It took a little over a week once I sent it out to get a replacement Cpu.

As far as other returns I messed up ordering a IDE drive when I wanted the Sata version. I just ordered the correct sata drive and RMA'd the IDE back. It took about 4 days to see the refund reflect in my bank.

I understand your concern and its possible if you order several parts you may end up with a bad part. In retrospect you're just as likely to get a dead part from the store. The only difference being you'll be able to drive back and return it rather then sending it in for a replacement.
