Do I need to update the IOS?

My phone is iPhone 8 and it is still perfect to work, and I didn't update the IOS a long time ago. Should I update the IOS to the latest version?

Honestly, I would not upgrade. there is an opinion that with each upgrade, older phones are slower. But let's wait for the experts in the field

Only security updates are required, if available.
Everything else doesn't really matter as long as you don't have any problems using your phone and apps.
Sometimes is really wise not to upgrade.
