Disableing the windows xp firewall ?

How do you disable the windows firewall, I allready disabled the mcafee firewall on the pc. I am trying to connect kazza lite but it will not connect.

my computer-->control panel-->security center-->windows firewall-->switch to off

Well the windows firewall was off, What could be causing kazza to not connect?
