I have a Dell XPS 210 that needs a new CD drive, it looks like it uses a standard Laptop drive, but because all the laptop drives I have come across are all different sizes I was wondering if I can just use any laptop drive or whether it needs to be a specific one? Can I use any laptop drive, on any laptop assuming the face plate fits? I would imagine there is a standard for it like with the desktop ones, here is the one I am looking at for it:

Thanks!

Hello, I have taken the following from: Documentation

Drives

Externally accessible

one slimline 3.5-inch media bay

one slimline 5.25-inch drive bay

Available devices

Serial ATA drive, USB memory devices, floppy drive, CD drive, DVD drive, DVD+RW drive, DVD/CD-RW combo drive, DVD+/-RW drive, and Media Card Reader

According to this it seems that the drive from Amazon will work.

Best of luck!
