Dell Laptop / broadband problem

I have a very puzzling problem with a couple of Dell Latitude C640 Pentium Laptops.

When these two laptops are used over a broadband connection after a few minutes of use the B,N and space keys do not function.

When the machines are used in the office plugged into the LAN or used without a connection the keys work fine.

I have a fleet of around 50 of these machines and only 2 have this problem. One connects using a D-Link DSL-504T router the other a speedtouch DSL modem. They also get the problem using a standard PSTN connection.

I have asked them to plug in an external keyboard and see what happens.

But in the meantime has anyone had simillar issues like this ? or can anyone offer any advice or pointers.

Dell Laptop / broadband

I spoke to the Dell helpdesk this morning but they were unable to help at all. All configuration on the laptop seems fine. Only thing they suggested was a rebuild. - Which i'm trying to avoid.

Anyone else got any ideas ? I'd appreciate it.

Cheers......

OK,

I got one of our users to plug in an external keyboard last night and hey presto it works fine.

However then then took the keyboard out and back to the same problem.

Dell are still stumped !!!!

tell the employees to stop spilling coffee on the keyboards:D

could be a problem with windows. (assuming that is what you are using)
I'm no expert but its a good possibility.
sorry I cant help anymore than giving my 2cents.:(

Maybe try a fresh install of windows with the laptops, see if it continues..
