i think the ragular desktops suck but the xps series isnt half bad

Dell PC are ok. If you like customizing or building your own system, then don't get a Dell. If you are a user that doesn't know too much about computer technology, but just know how to use it, then Dell's are perfect. Or Compaq/HP, Gateway etc.

I hate Dell. I have upgraded the dell I have, to put an ethernet card in, and now the psu will restart everytime the processor starts working more than having one or two windows open. So its either a working PC with no internet, or a non-working PC with inter, or at least $30 bucks to fix a ancient computer.

Dell's and these type of companies don't anticipate people upgrading their Dell unless it's an upgrade from the beginning when you actually buy the system. Then, they just support it after that until warranty expires.
