I am upgrading a Dell dimension 2550 2.4ghz and so far I have replaced the motherboard with one from a Dell dimension 4600 which came with a 2.8ghz cpu and 1gb of ddr400 ram. Though the FSB is still at 533mhz. I read the 2.8ghz cip will only run a fsb at 533. So I had a thought of upgrading it to a 3.4Ghhz chip which I read would work as long at the bios is version A12 which it is.

The two chips below are 3.4ghz chips. One is one that is suggested by a thread I read online somewhere which is the Northwood SL793. The other seems the same besides a different number and not sure if its a northwood or prescott though the auction does sayits for dell 4600

Which one should I go with and does it really matter?
