Dead External HDD?

So I purchased a Fantom drive about a year ago and over the weekend it appears to have died. The power light is on the drive and it's connected via usb. However, the pc does not recognize it in the drive listing. I have tried this on multiple pc's with no luck. Is there a way to somehow recover the data on that HDD even though it's not showing up in the drive listing?

Most likely it's the interface inside the enclosure that has gone bad. You can open up the case and remove the hard drive and install it in any computer as a slave drive and see all the data that is on the drive. If the drive still works and you still want it as an external then you can buy a new external enclosure and install the hard drive into it and it.
