data recovery after HDD format

hello everyone. i am new here. and faced with a problem.


someone has formatted my hard disk and loaded a new operating system.


is there any way i can recover an important piece of data ( a word document) that was there before the formatting??

any software that i could use to recover the document???

you want to try and find some "undelete" software. you may be able to recover it. no guarantees as data has been written to the drive after the format
