D-Link DI604 Setting each connection for each program... yikes help!

I have a friend who wants to setup a connection for each application running on his machine.

He has a D-Link DI604 router, and this is what he wants to do.

FTP Client 1 running on connection 1 on network card 1

FTP Client 2 running on connection 2 on network card 2

does anyone have a clue as to what he should do?

I'm not sure about the applictions, but the FTP issue is not that big of a deal. All you need to do with that is port forwarding, which you would forward any requests for FTP access from the router, and direct it to an internal IP address and the port number. Not sure how the applications tie into FTP....Please elaborate.
