When you right-click the desktop using Windows XP and hold the mouse over "New" in the drop-down list, a list of basic programs to choose from are displayed. I imagine it is mostly used by people to quickly create new folders or to quickly open a new wordpad/text document from the desktop. Anyway, there must be a way to edit or customize the list of programs that shows up. I want to delete some of the selections and (more importantly) add another. Does anyone know how to do it? Some instructions would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you! =)

they appear to be listed in the registry keys found at

HKCU\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\dicardable\postsetup\shellnew

I found these by searching the registry for Text Document (one of the shortcuts that s there) you might be able to find more.
