Crossfire 1900XT or single 8800?

Got a single HIS 512MB 1900XT.

What would be the graphics implications if I got another (Master edition) and ran them in Crossfire, as opposed to getting a single solid 8800 card.

The Master edition I can get for £150. - The 8800 (not sure which model I'd get - would obviously be more expensive. I'd also have to sell my mobo and get another for crossfire - but I'm happy to do that, because my DS4 has give me nothing but trouble... (I hear this is rare).

Let me know your thoughts. - If you side with 8800 what is the best value for money?

Cheers.

deff go for the 8800
but make sure its the 640mb version or higher
the 320 version really suxs

lmao the 320mb version is just as good for now. unless you game at 1600x1200 the 320mb is just as good.
DONT judge video cards JUST by the amount of VRAM. thats one of the least important things!

EDIT
2 cards in crossfire\sli will never be as good as a single card if they add up to be the same price really. but for another note crossfire is much better than sli.

cheers for the advice. Just out of curiosity... how far ahead would the 8800 be in comparison to the crossfire set up xTs?

Well tbh that x1900xt is quite powerful as it is and so you wouldnt realy need another one .RUnning 2 of them does pose problems as not much is actually enhanced to use 2 GPU's
As for getting an 8800 well tbh the core speed of the x1900XT is better than the 8800's

i no but the 640mb version
is a lot better then the 320mb version
for 1 higher rev
2 it will last long with up coming games

Please back up your statements. There is no difference between a 320mb version and 640mb version unless you are gaming at resolutions above 1280X1024 or playing a game that requires 512mb of Vram.

Now if he plans to game at say 1680X1050 then yes I would agree the 640mb version would better suite him. If not its a waste of money unless there is a game he plays that need 512mb of Vram.
