I'm kinda strapped for cash, and I hear the Athlon XP 2100 is quite nice. But, how much speed is too much speed? If I wanted to get a pretty fast CPU, but I didn't feel like spending a lot, what is the best choice?

The Athlon XP 1700+ and 1800+ based on the Thoroughbred core are startingly cheap and roughly can top a Pentium IV 2 GHz. They are very overclockable as well, can even hit 2100+/2200+ speeds with a bit of skill and luck.

I bet you $10 you wont notice the diff between that and the 2100+
