CPU does not meet minimum specification

I have been happily playing CoD Ghosts and Advanced Warfare for some months with no problems. For some reason when I now try to load them it is stating "Your CPU does not meet the minimum specification...." and a fatal error comes up. Does anybody have an idea what may have happened???

Without knowing your system specs I only can guess that your CPU throttled down from overheating. Open up your box and look at the heatsink/fan for operation and dust buildup.

I have some hard core gamers on my staff. So after consulting with them, this is what we think it may be.

Either the game auto installed updates that are out of the specs of your system.
OR
Video cards issues. Update the drivers first.

I got World of Warplanes on my laptop and when it downloaded updates it drove it right out of the specs of laptop and it shut right down.
