Just because it has been "restored" and has a "salvage" title doesn't mean it was ruined, doesn't take much for a car to get totalled off, and end up with a salvage title, my grand am has a salvage title, just because insurance didn't want to cough up cash for a fender to be replaced.

That's why he should try to pictures of the damage and the records from when it was repaired.

You would get a kick out of my little four banger Escort then. It looks like crap and is long in the tooth, but it is peppy and will run. Since it is a manual it doesn't have a passing gear or an extra kick to the throttle, but it still will take off and run with some power. It's only a 1.9L.

I drive a 20 year old 1.8 liter but since it's a stick I rarely ever feel like I'm lacking on power. You can better take advantage of the small, peaky engine. Plus it's just a lot of fun to row it through the gears in order to keep it making power.

Oh wow i would buy that in a heartbeat. I would buy any car that allows me to overtake without fearing for my life, though.



I always thought i would buy an auto as soon as i could afford one. But we were on private property the other day, i got to drive my dads Merc E320 auto... sure it was fast, but it's far to smooth. Auto just feels boring. In a manual car you put your foot down and get a sharp kick into your seat, and you feel every gear change (When your accelerating hard). Auto just felt less fun to me, and thats really wrong when i drive a 1.4L manual car day to day..

That said i would still swap any car faster than mine straight away. My car scares me. It's so slow at overtaking you get to look at the guy your overtaking in enough detail to know what weight and height he is with 99% accuracy

For daily drivers I don't drive them for fun. If I want to drive a car for fun I'll take it to a track and really have some fun. With this being said, and the ridiculous traffic/construction over here, I'd rather have an auto in my daily. My truck is a stick though which is gonna be a hopped up 4x4.

This is exactly why we didn't claim on our insurance after the wreck in March. By the time I'm done with it the car will looking like new again and probably be better than before. When I go to sell, the buyer wont know the difference.

$3200 is a good deal on that car, but expect things to go wrong with it. The turn of the century was not the peak of Ford's performance and all those miles should mean a lot of wear. I'd like to know more about the title.

The 4.6 is a stout engine. The only real problem is the plastic intakes they put on those things, but if you aren't racing it around then it wont be a problem.

Because I can drive my car in any RPM range that I want. This also lets me squeeze out some great gas mileage when puttin' around town.
