Well if it does what it says it did (Melted solder points and fixed micro fractures) then i see no reason for it to fail again.

Was going to say that too. If the solder simply stress fractured then their is no reason why this resoldering job wouldn't fix it permemantly.

The idea itself would most likely have been from someone wanting to melt and resolder a joint but finding the soldering iron either too time consuming or ineffective. So attempting to heat the whole board or component. And where do you heat big things, the oven. Why the hell not. Eh,

Excactly! Although if they put it in for too hot and for too long i suppose it could damage some of the chips on the board such as memory.
