Converting .avi to DVD

What do you guys use to convert movie files (mainly divx supported or .avi format) from your PC to a DVD so that it can be played on a "standalone" DVD player? Nero or Roxio doesn't work. I can copy the data over to Nero, but it doesn't play on a regular DVD player.

Man, know one on here knows? I posted this exact same topic in another forum 15 minutes later. Got six nice responses already!! So nevermind. Looks like I know where to get my computer help .

Don't worry about it. I already got it from another forum. The guys told me to get WinAVI (then use a Nero burning ROM or Roxio afterwards), ConvertXtoDVD, or Nero Vision (came bundeled with Nero 8 Platinum). Although WinAVI is suppose to have better quality due to lower loss of compression.

I couldn't get the activation to work, but thanks for the link though. It's a trial software.
