A while ago I purchased a Freecom USB DVDRW, later on I took the DVD drive out of it and put it inside my PC. Inside the case of the Freecom there is an IDE and Molex which link to a circuit board inside. I have since put different disc drives inside it and they worked just fine. Will it work if I put an IDE HDD in it? This is only to quickly transfer files to a laptop so its only temporary. Thanks.

Thanks, I was planning on plugging it in after I have booted into windows on the laptop, that way I don't have to change anything in the BIOS.

i dont see any reason why not, the only thing i can suggest is just try it, no harm can come from it
