Controlling remotely and graphics display

I'm considering buying a netbook which I could use to control my desktop remotely. How would this work if I were to run a game on the desktop at high res? Would the graphics card in the netbook need to have the same performance capabilities as the one in the desktop to display properly, or would the netbook basically act like a second monitor as far as graphics are concerned?

Thanks for any and all insights/info/advice.

It all depends on the network connection. The speed of the network is going to limit what you can and can't do. Chances are good that the network will not allow you to play games across it. Also, the resolution on a netbook is different than that of a normal screen.
