I wouldn't go the monitor route for consoles. I'd take a Full HD TV. A smart Full HD TV if I might use the smart features.
PS4 does not output over Full HD (1080p) nor it goes over 60 FPS in games. TV's have those even some really cheap ones and many of them proved long living too.
What I would do is make sure the TV I'm looking at does not have bad input lag and response time. This will reduce (prevent, depending on the eye) late video output and motion blur kinda effects on faster movement. Even 20 ms input lag might be unnoticeable to those who don't especially seek to find it.
For that I would consult TV specialists instead of a computer forum to get the best results, tho if there are skeptical gamers here they could help too. I suggest you consult Sony for good TV's for consoles.
Personally I go to show rooms with my laptop and connect it to TV's and test how good the mouse moves. I only look at numbers to seek a specific TV to test.
I use my PC on a 60" 1080p Sony smart TV since I game on 1080p 60 FPS and it's good enough.
