Connecting Laptop keyboard ribbon cable through USB?

I was taking apart my 7 year old laptop and I removed the keyboard from it. The keyboard connected to the motherboard through those old ribbon cables. Is there anyway I can connect that keyboard to another computer through USB? Like an adapter or something?

Nope, the ribbon cables are present on all laptop keyboards, because laptop keyboards use Parallel (PS/2) technology, not Serial like USB.

Hense why, in device manager, a laptop keyboard and a laptop mouse will probably show up as PS/2 Compatible Keyboard and PS/2 Compatible Mouse if no manufacturer drivers are installed. You can convert Parallel signals to Serial, but it requires a bit more than just an adapter. Take PATA to SATA converters for example, though i don't think one exists (or ever will exist) that does PS/2 laptop keyboard to USB.
