Computer to Computer transfer Via USB

If I have a USB A/M to A/M cable and I connect two computers through this cable, would I be able to transfer files/data? How does this work?

It should be able to. I personally like to hook up 2 computers through Ethernet/wireless and just share files through there.

You can connect two computers, but you'll need a special USB networking cable like this one: USB 2.0 Network Cable.

Can you just connect 2 computers through an Ethernet cable? Or does it have to be wireless?

You can do Ethernet.

What your looking for is a ethernet crossover cable. It will allow you to connect 2 computers together to share the same resources as 1 small network.

Actually it works with any Ethernet cable. I just unplugged one end from the modem and plugged it in to my dad's laptop. And we shared some songs =]
