Computer shuts down for no reason

I am currently experiencing a problem whereby if I put a blank CD into my DVD writer then windows shuts down and restarts. It can do this sometimes twice in one go and goes into safe mode whilst it does a disk check. When I put a DVD in then it does not occur. I have tried buying new CDs but this has not solved the problem. Any ideas? It does show "error details" below –

This is the exact technical info about error report. I hope that this helps

If its ok in safe mode then its probably something to do with ya drivers. Try removing ya CD drivers and your IDE drivers in safe mode. Allow it to reboot and reinstall them and see what happens then

A kernel mode program generated an exception which the error handler didn't catch. These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues (which sometimes means a driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade)

Detailed info on how to fix this error is here

other things to check are

• One or more of the random access memory (RAM) modules that are installed on your computer are faulty.
• The RAM configuration is incompatible with Windows XP.

Good Luck
