computer screen loses signal

when im running a youtube video or even sometimes going to the youtube home page my computer screen all of a sudden loses signal and the whole computer just freezes. the only way to restore this problem is to press the reset button to reset the computer. i know my drivers are up to date but sometimes it also gives me a error message saying that the kernal driver has stopped working and recovered. im think that its a hardware problem with either the graphics card or the power supply. what do you guys think?

I agree with your assessment. I would look at the video card first, though if you have a multimeter and know how to use it, I'd take a quicker gander at the voltage outputs of your power supply.

ok thanks ill give that a try. i also noticed that there is no system idle process in the task manager. could that be a reason?
