Computer Messed Up

Don't know if i should post this here... But my Compaq is just fine (i don't game and such) and I have a cable connection... It was just fine then one day it messed up about a month ago and it won't establish internet... I turn on the computer and get to the desktop and it says: Runtime Error: Invalid Backweb ID 1940576. I think this is the problem, everything else seems fine. My McAfee thing did expire about two months ago and I'm getting a new one from a friend on Saturday (the 2006 version) and i have Spybot Search and Destroy. Any tips? PLEASE.

do a system restore to the day before it started screwing up, if that doesnt work reinstall windows and if that doesnt work buy a new computer!

Do some virus scans and spyware scans

So you can carry on after the Error? Try putting in the Repair disk, or use the Check Disk feature on the disk. Also, get some virus programs, e.g. BitDefender, AVG, Kapersky, and scan your PC. Also check out SpyDoctor, SpyBot Search & Destroy, and Adaware SE
