computer dead?

Hello,
I have a Mesh 512MB RAM, 1.7GHz AMD Processor - Here is my problem:

You cannot turn on the computer from the front switch, you have to use the plug in the back to turn it on; none of the cd drives power up, but the hard drive light comes on and fans work. The monitor shows no signal and the green light on the motherboard lights up. We have changed the power supply, but no luck? Could it be a dead mobo?

Is this a new computer?
This this only happen recently?

Computer is about 4 years old.
Yes, this is only happening recently. We tried testing the RAM by taking it out and my trying each stick at a time...no luck and no beeps when no RAM is in the computer.
