I noticed today that several of my mp3 files have a strange hissing and distortion to them that was not present until very recently. In certain songs it causes a slight, barely noticable hiss, and in others makes it absolutely unlistenable. The only thing I can attribute this to is the fact that earlier today a fuse was blown in my house. There is also a lightning storm going on right now. I was wondering if these could be the causes of the problem, if there are any other potential causes, and if there is any solution. thanks.
 
you should check your speakers, do they have a base speaker, cause that takes in extra power and could have messed up when that fuse blew, try useing a different pair of speakers or headphones and see if it still does it... other than that I don't know, never had something like that happen before...
