compaq presario 5170

have a compaq presario 5170 from '98 and i dont wanna throw it out. When it comes to upgrading etc. I'm a total noob so, any ideas ? Anyone wanna give me some info, or direct me somewhere else ?

if u wanna upgrade your laptop, your not going to be able to make it much better. Upgrading the ram and hard drive is pretty much all you can do with most laptops

I'm sorry to say that "upgrading" your old PC would be a complete waste of money. It is woefully outdated and you would be better served buying a new system.

yea i put linux on it, just wanted to improve things but point taken.
