Choices with a new computer

AMD, runs just as fast on regular apps, cheaper, better at gaming.

...Where are the facts to support that ^ ? Most average apps are single thread and are based clock for clock. So they pretty well equal out there. They are definitely cheaper and more fitting for a budget, though. Gaming - Strictly depends on the game. Some games are coded around (optimized) for AMD and others for Intel. Same about "number crunching" Depends on what you are using to "number crunch". SuperPI is one of those programs that works best with Intel. As the same for video/audio encoding. Depends on the program.

there better for gaming because they are cheaper, why pay an extra 100 bucks when an AMD proc will do just as good, if not better? thats why i said AMD is better for gaming.
