I am thinking of cooling my chipset, but i dont want to get a new HSF, and was thinking of just putting a fan on top.
but my question is, to make the chipset run cooler, do i cool the northbridge or southbridge or both.
Thanks in advance

You can cool both but the northbridge is the one that usually gets hot, the southbridge doesnt get hot much.

The southbridge can get hot, especially when there is a lot of I/O data, and as you're running an AMD platform, the SB will be almost as important as the NB. While the system is running under load, touch the heatsinks of both, stick a fan on whichever is hotter.
