IBM sold it's personal computer business to Lenevo about a year ago. Although they are no longer made by IBM, many of the machines still share many of the features, and looks of previous IBM products.

actually, Lenovo is cheap.

I saw a Sempron locally from Best Buy with Sempron 3000, 512MB RAM, DVD-RW, and 80GB HD for $299.98.

That's expensive?

IBM's are expensive pieces of crap.

lenovo make the thinkpads... but they are still branded as IBM...

expensive, but NICE laptops...

Bestbuy doesnt carry Lenovo / IBM.

Lenovo / IBM only deals with corporate customers as well I believe.

I saw the deal at a private store. I think i've seen Staples with Lenovo too.

Lenovo seems to make solid products, but thats by judging the awards they recieved for their hand-held line.

Since everyone knows IBM and no-one know lenovo, Lenovo will use the IBM brand.

Im not sure how this will fare, since i heard that many us gov't orgs have refused support from ibm, and even switched to dell.
