Chicken or the egg?

They have found several dinosaur bones that still had spongy material within them... blood and marrow.

Unless you define the egg as any egg, you have to start with a chicken. Only a chicken can lay a chicken egg. But then you have to define how you got a chicken.

Why not try an easier question first, like "How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?" or something.

Like ive said, a chicken doesnt have to lay the chicken egg. Read the other posts to see what i think on that. Im not saying im right, im encouraging discussion.

At what point in the evolutionary tree can we define an organism as being a "chicken"? Essentially we're just dealing with labels.

I think one concept to understand here is the concept of speciation.
the process of speciation is when we have a type of organism with which isolated populations have separate genetic drift, such that when the drift becomes large enough the two populations can no longer interbreed.
