CD Rom Drive

Hello all,

I have a simple question. If I replace the CD ROM drive of my computer with one that I have laying around, Do I need to install a driver for this new drive?

No. The computer will detect the new drive and configure it automatically.

There is no need to install driver manually for any kind of CD or DVD rom Drive
your OS will automatically install its driver

Both are right. I did the same thing but I bought a new drive, the PC installed it automatically.

On a rare occasion if you find it not working, just download the drivers from the site, then double check the connections.

Or refresh the driver list...unless he's using Windows 3.1
