First off, let me say I know about the little paperclip hole that ejects the drive. That is not the problem. I will put a CD in the drive to burn backups too, and then it will finish the burn and never eject. When I try to hit the eject button on the drive it won't open up. When I go to My Computer and try to eject it by right clicking on it and selecting Eject it still won't. Then all of a sudden the next morning, it will eject.
Is there some kind of lock that the burning software might be using that keeps the drive from opening up while in the burning process? Maybe it isn't releasing it once it has finished burning? Any ideas? I have already replaced the drive so I honestly think it is a software problem, or if it is a hardware problem, it is not specifically with the drive but maybe the mother board controlling it? I am clueless, just shooting from the hip here.
