Tried to burn some Pink Floyd, nothing. Put a video in, nothing. Went to device manager, found that there is a problem with Memorex Nero, the device that I installed a couple of years ago. Have only used it a few times. Un-installed it, re-installed it , nothing. Put the disc in from Memorex Nero , nothing. Don't know if it's related but, I ran a scan using " fix it utilities " The external loop back test failed. The LPT port does not support all status lines.
