What state do you live in? Min. wage here is $7.86 and hour I think.

Federal minimum wage is much lower.

You can open a checking account. I had one when i was thirteen. My tight-wad parents wanted me to learn how to budget my money from my one-day-a-week job.

Checks will cost you about $20 though. That's more than 10% of your net pay! ****, checking accounts are expensive!!

i got a checking account with Wachovia today for free
i didnt order the checks though because like you said they are 20 bucks alone and i dont need them, i did get a check card for free though

Dude, keep an eye on that sh*t. I've had one for like four years and I still over withdrawal all the time.... Luckily, my checking and savings are linked so if I overwithdrawal it just pulls from my savings. If it didn't they charge lilke 35 dollars.

Tell me this? Why does the bank charge you more for not having enough to begin with? Kinda stupid.
