card reader problem

Have you removed the card at any time without using the safely remove hardware option? This is quite common if you have, it causes data corruption and I/O errors. Normally the only way to sort this is to reformat the card.

Few things to try first tho, Check that everything is ok in device manager, any yellow ! marks etc? Whats it say in disk management about the device? It might just need formatted or activated if its new. If its new, just use disk management, right click the drive, and i think there is an activate option there somewhere, use that then format it (only if its new tho)

i have tried two sd cards and both have the error. also it is only the sd card part of the reader that is giving me this problem. not cf, or memory stick
