I know "basic" electrical theory, ok? YOU apparently don't know what your saying because the stripe runs along the entire thing and the leads are on both ends. I've figure that the arrow points to the negative side.

the stripe is on the same freaking side as the negative lead. that is what i have been saying. the other lead is the positive input. Dont try to educate me about electronics, how many embedded MCU driven boards have you built? thats what i thought. read my posts and don't flame.

put simply the stripe runs along only one side of the cylinder that side denotes that the lead that runs parallel to it is the negative lead the other is the postive. I'm not saying it again.

ok look ill make this as simple as i can the capacitor has 2 pins right? ok good stick with me now. the pin that is on the same side as the white stripe is the negative or - pin, the other pin is the positive or +. get it? ok.
