cannot create internet connection

well i checked my moms device manager and mines and it seems that im missing a "network adapters". i think thats why im not getting any internet. is there a way to install it back in?

That's kind of weird that that happened when you put his in your router. Did you make sure your cable is connected in the right switch? Yours should be in the "Internet" one. His should be connected to #1. If that still doesnt solve the problem, Try unplugging his and then checking to see if your internet works again. If your ethernet PCI card (NIC) isnt found in device manager, restart your computer and see if that works. If it still isnt found, run the add new hardware wizard.

By default some Internet providers may block out other people from using your internet connection when two or more computers are connected. You can try logging in on your IP website and changing your settings to specify how many people can connect.
