Really need help, I had windows 7 installed, tried to install XP on the secondary partition. When it finished preparing the disk, when the computer restarted Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem was displayed, I was following this manual I found online, basically it said this wasn't supposed to happen and I could have just used a third party boot loader, anyways what can I do to fix this? if I can't dual boot thats fine but I do not want to lose my work and files on here thank.

to which partition? I am not sure how to use grub. I can log into windows XP recovery console and can add items to the bootloader but the boot loader only recgnizes one OS (obviously ) but how can I continue installing XP now?
