Can i turn on/off fans manually ?

by using a program such as speedfan. i dont have a link readily available, but i think it can do it.

As long as the fan is plugged into the motherboard and not the power supply.

ahh, well... makes sense, i guess.. i've never really gotten any use out of speedfan, because my motherboard has a pile of s*** for a sensor.. (in other words, the temperature i get in speedfan is &ac@!0$A!5Isv or something like that)

only the cpu, which is the only varible voltage fan port on motherboards, ive tried many times.

Not entirely true, my Asus Commando isn't like that. The only 3-pin fan I have plugged in can be controlled by Speedfan, and it's nowhere near the CPU fan plug.

You can use speed fans on a custom computer when they're plugged into the motherboard.

If plugged into the PSU, unplug it.

If you can grab a fan controller at any stores, it's the best way to go. It even does PSU fans, when you plug them in.
