im having a hell of a time figuring out how to do this.

ive searched all over the web and i get nothing but how to use my tv as a laptop display.

i want to plug the video rca plug into my laptop so i can play games on an up coming road trip.

i have a DELL inspiron 8500 laptop if that matters.

how can i pull this off?

thanks
Andrew

If your TV has a VGA input and your laptop has one, then it should work if you just get the right cable.

The only way I know of connecting a PC to a TV is via the S/Video cable. But he wants to connect a console to a PC and use the monitor on the PC/Lap Top. I think this requires a Crossover cable, seeing as that's the cable used for direct connections. :)

so basicly i have to get about a 80-200 dollar external tv tuner?

i guess it not as easy or as cheap as i hoped...damn

Well My video card on my PC has ViVO,S Vid in and out, Composite in and out. And i just plug my gamecube into the composite in. Unfortonately there is no sound. lmao. If you have any of those ports u can.

If not u can get an RGB to VGA adapter for like 5 bucks off ebay.

You can get a 100 dollar tuner and an RF unit.

It isn't worth getting a tv tuner to play the console on the lap top.
Unless if you play the console on a channel like 3 or 4.
An RF unit will do that for you. It is 10 dollars.
