Buying a laptop

I'm not really all that computer savy. Buy basically I want to get a gaming laptop for under 2 grand w/ about 3.0 Ghz Pentium 4, atleat 512mb ram, and around 60-80 gig HD. I dont want to get a widescreen either, it seems that it would distort the game or have black lines on the side or something which I dont want.

a gaming laptop? isnt that contridicting anyway not to hard to find a decent laptop just do some research and find the best laptop for the price.
