Building new computer, need help.

Processor: AMD FX-4100

RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory

DVD: ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Power Supply: LOGISYS Computer PS550ABK 50Watts ATX12V Power Supply W/SATA

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

Screen: 24" Screen


These are all the specs that I think you should need, the Motherboard has a inbuilt sound card in it , I have the price range at about $750-$800 USD is this a good price or could I do better?

Oh sorry, yes I do, I have a AMD Radeon HD 6850 Graphics card that I would purchase with it too, I've been told the processor isn't good and that I should upgrade to a Phenom II? What are your thoughts?


Edit: AMD Radeon HD 6850 Graphics card with the top parts too.

In some respects. the Phenom II is faster because it has more FPUs.

I think FX-4100 is a smart choice. What will you do with this machine?

Price range looks about right, too.

I'll play games on it aswell as normal studying reasons, games include Runescape, Diablo III, and maybe even Counter Strike Source.
