Its a budget machine... im going with...

Amd athlon 64 3000 754 pin.
512 megs DDR3200

I need recomendations on an appropriate motherboard. Hoping to have onboard sound and network.

Go with that board without a doubt.. it is the best socket 754 motherboard out there. It has both onboard sound and 10/100.
