building gun box case thing

ok, i have this old ww2 footlocker i use as a coffee table in my room. well, its empty and im looking for a guncase on the cheap. i can put a combo lock on it. some questions tho, ok first off the inside is wood, anyone know where i can get that like black foam they use in guncases to line it? also, the handles were leather and bascially disintegrated, what could i use as handles that keep the old look and dont look to out of place?

so far, i have my dads old 22, a browning sweet 16 shotgun (actual name, not that its sweet ha), a browning 22lr camper, a very old revolver, soon to pick up a 12ga mossberg 590, maybe a 10/22

But very bad if I'm holding it. For the old leather handles the best thing to replace them with is probably leather but you could artificially age it.

Make some wooden handles out of 2x4s using a jigsaw. Sand them smooth and rounded, stain them to match the case.

turns out its just too small for my long guns. :/ so this (or a similar one) are going towards a case mod. thread on that in that topic
