So I decided that I would build my first PC instead of going and buying something...I have done my research for the most part and have several sources on how to physicaly put it together. So I was curious if you guys would take a look at the hardware im thinking about buying and telling me what you think or what you have heard about it, and also what tips you would give to a noob building his first computer. Oh and if this hardware would be able to work with the new windows coming out. Thanks!

I did read that for the case to work with the motherboard that I would need a 24 pin adapter.

will you be buying an OS or are you going to be using Linux? if you need windows, you'll have to buy it =/

Yeah I plan on buying windows and then getting the vista upgrade. With this system I should be able to play games such as doom 3, quake 4, and battlefield 2...right...

yep, it should play those beautifully.. i've heard from people that in order to run bf2 real smoothly you need 2 gigs of RAM, but i don't have the game, and i don't use 2 gigs, so i'm not sure about the credibilty of that statement.

Well that right there is just to get up and running...once I get going I will probly put in another stick and possibly a second video card.

You'll be ok with a gig of ram. 2GB is definitely recommended. You planning on getting Vista Ultimate Edition? 2GB will help a great deal.

I Havent really researched vista a lot, but I know im gonna upgrade within the first few months of it coming out.

For the video card, where does the 7600GT rank amung video cards, like on a scale of 1-10?

THere are like 6 different versions of Vista or something like that. The only version of Vista that require at least 1GB is the Windows Vista Ultimate Edition. The other versions only require 512MB of RAM.

As for the video card, I rank that 7 out of 10
