i have decided to build my own computer money is no option, i would prefer a powerful fast gaming computer. these are the components i have researched and would like to use. are these the right parts?!?!

Asus P7P55D--motherboard

Intel Core i7--processor (unsure if i need one, i think the MB comes with one)

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL-- ram

ASUS Black 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM --DVD RW

Samsung SpinPoint F1 1TB--hard drive

HT | OMEGA CLARO Plus+ 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Card --soundcard

COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case--case (i was going to choose the antec but it didnt hav enough fans, and i heard over heating is a major problem with gaming desktops

ATI Radeon HD 5970 --video card

SO there is what i would like to work with, if you have any suggestions to better components or any constructive criticism to the parts it would awesome.

please no bad mouthing, or wasteful information, please do not post just for the sake of posting, only helpful posts will be listened too, if you don't agree with a statement made by another user please ignore or only post if it will help myself.

also in regards to posting a comment that states "this is already posted or can easily found" don't post it, the reason i am asking questions is because I DID NOT find the other information.

Thank you i appreciate your information,
Truesony

LOL

Anyway, do you have links to the items you're planning to purchase? You stated the i7 may come with the board so I'm curious if it does. I just had to laugh at your disclaimer up there :D I'll review the build here in a second and post some constructive feedback.

Very nice setup... very very nice.
Why not double up on the RAM though? You have the capacity.

I would add a Solid State Drive to the mix as well.

Uhhh yea that Graphics card will pretty much wash your car for you too....

Just double up on the RAM that you already have, get four sticks instead of two.

The DVD RW doesn't really matter, those are a dime a dozen anyway and all the same IMO.
