Building a gaming rig help please :)

Hey guys I am planning on building a new tower and i need some help i am wanting to spend 1500-1600$ tops no more on a tower i need it to be amazing for games like world of warcraft battle feild 2142, like i want it to be able to run full AA and almost max res without lag. also i want it to be great for multi tasking such as running the internet msn games music and all that fun stuff so i would really appreicate somones help on this, and please get all the parts off www.ncix.com and make sure to click canada on the side because i need it in all canadian prices thanks

Wow you will have no problems building a PC for that price that will run WoW and BF 2142! Id suggest a Intel Core 2 Duo (E6400 or higher) 2 gigs of DDR2 RAM, 8800GTS, thats the basics I would suggest. If you want me to put together a complete rig post back and ill grab you some Newegg links

They don't mention wheather you'll get the older B3 stepping though, or the newer G0 stepping (runs cooler). Basically, its the newer revision they released.

We could buy the rest of the parts from here, but for the processor, to make sure you get a G0, another online retailer may be best, as most allow you to pick out of the two. Unless, you can make sure your going to get the latest g0 stepping (SLACR on the box)

eVGA has a 90 day step-up program, so you can upgrade your 8800GTX to a 9800GTX when they come out in November (no need for SLi when you're running 9800GTX)
I picked the cheapest DDR2 800 CAS4 sticks after rebate, but you could swap the Patriots for Crucials and hope for D9 chips for better oc'ing.

If you decide to go with my build, and let me say that this is the TOP OF THE LINE RIG ON TODAY MARKET get the quad-core Q6600 G0 step from here

They garantee u the G0 step. G0 = better cooling (its juts a better version of a Q6600) newegg I think still ships the G3 step

With the amount of stock NCIX moves, what they have now are all G0 steppings.

For that amount of money you are spending, this is what I would recomend.

RAM: Any 4GB of DDRII 800. You have alot of choices, depends if you want to overclock the ram, and depends if you want to use rebates or avoid them.

DVD Burner: These work great.

Motherboard: eVGA 680SLI (NF68 revision). These are a great board and one of the better ones for overclocking. You could look at cheaper boards like the 650I or P5K however. http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=23215&vpn=122-CK-NF68-A1&manufacture=eVGA&promoid=1060

Power Supply: 500W silverstone element. The most electrically sound power supply in it's class, will power your rig quite nicely. If you want a crazy hard drive setup or sli, i'd recoemd a more pwoerful power supply.

For the case, just pick something that looks good and has great cooling, and for the graphics card as you said, get any 8800 you can afford. Hard drives, Seagate and Western Digital are both great brands, get the amount of space you need. Personally I wouldn't get anything over an 8800GTS as spending much more money is rather pointless. Also i'd recommend a 64bit OS to go along with this computer as a 32 bit will not see all the ram. With hard drive prices nowadays, I'd dual boot Vista 64 and XP.

PSU is the most important part in the computer, so I would get a better 1, 500W seems low 2 me.

I'd say 550 is minimum, 600 recommended for most systems to have room to upgrade.
